Kigata Primary school in Kyanamira Sub-county on Saturday morning received thirteen boxes of reading books from the African Library Project.
Kigata primary schools is a government aided day school with 16 teaching staff and a total enrollment of 540 Pupils.
The former Ndorwa East constituency aspirant Mrs. Grace Ankunda Besigye on Saturday delivered 1,181books she lobbiee the from African Library Project to Kigata Primary school.
Speaking to our reporter at the school premises in Kyanamira sub-county Kabale District, Ankunda said that she and her husband Mr. Bwesigye Emanuel had a relationship with the African Library Project where they got the reading books.
Ankunda encouraged all the primary school Head teachers to apply in the African Library Project to have the reading books at their respective schools.
She added that reading culture is an issue in Africa and the children at school from primary one up to primary seven are now able to access the books.
Ankunda called upon the pupils to develop a reading culture at school and utilize the library for good academic performance and results.
The headmaster of Kigata Primary school Mr. Besiga David applauded Mr. Bwesigye Emmanuel the husband to the former Ndorwa East constituency aspirant Mrs. Grace Ankunda Bwesigye for having coordinated them with African Library Project to have the books.
Besiga added that the school didn’t have enough books in the Library, and that the books are going to boost the academic performance of the pupils and reading culture at school.
The pupils at school applauded Mrs. Ankunda for the reading books. They added that the donated books will boost their academic performance.
