General Muhoozi who was  the chief guest at Katuna-Gatuna border reopening thanksgiving first travelled to Katuna cross boarder to lay a stone to pave way for the construction of Museveni-Kagame market as a landmark of MK Movement in the Kigezi sub-region.

The Rwandan authorities had partially re-opened the border on January 31st 2022 after the Rwandan president Paul Kagame had closed the borders on February 27th 2019, accusing Uganda of hosting Rwandan dissidents, abducting Rwandan nationals, and locking them in non-designated areas.
