Four Kisoro goons remanded until 17th May on robbery charges

Kisoro – Four Suspected notorious goons in Kisoro municipality were on Wednesday remanded to Kisoro prison by the Kisoro Chief Magistrate Court presided over by His worship Komakech Kenneth until 17th May 2023 on aggravated robbery charges.

The suspects are Ndayisenga Richard aka Arsenal, Ngabire Samuel aka Kibudusi, Niringiyimana Nicholas and Kwizera Derrick aka Ngareba while others are still at large.

Prosecution states that on the 8th day of April 2023 while at Kisoro hill village at Shaza playground, the suspects waylaid Niyonkuru Mark, the GISO for northern division in Kisoro municipality using slashers, machetes and other weapons.

Prosecution adds that the suspects robbed a laptop, its charger and mouse, two phones worth over two million shillings, national ID and a wallet with cash over Shs100,000 from the victim; Niyonkuru.

His Worship Komakech said that the suspects are not allowed to say anything because the charges against them can only be tried by the High Court. He added that investigations are still going on and adjourned the matter for 17th May 2023.

The Kisoro district police commander (DPC), SP Musisi Robert assured locals of continued operations against such goons adding that legal authorities need to do their part to ensure that the communities remain free from goons. He noted that some weapons used by the goons to waylay people have been recovered and investigations are still ongoing.
