Kampala – The Anti-corruption Court sitting in Kololo on Thursday afternoon granted a cash bail of Shs10m to the embattled State Minister for Finance and Economic Planning who is also Ntenjeru Member of Parliament Amos Lugoloobi.
The Minister was a couple of days charged in the same Court and sent to Luzira prison over the allegations of diverting iron sheets meant for vulnerable persons in Karamoja (Karacunas).
The Minister has been asked to also deposit with court his diplomatic passport, and one of his land titles. Whereas, his six sureties were asked Shs100million non-cash each.
The Minister has also been cautioned against interfering with prosecution witnesses and leaving the country without permission.

The Ntenjeru North legislator is one of the three ministers who have so far been charged in court over the Karamoja iron sheets scandal.
Karamoja Affairs minister Mary Goretti Kitutu was the first to face court and charged. Her junior minister Agnes Nandutu was on Wednesday 19th April 2023 charged and committed to High Court for trial on charges of dealing with suspect property.
She was remanded to Luzira Prison until May 3, 2023, when she’s expected to appear before the court for mention of her case.
It remains to be seen if other senior cabinet minsters implicated in the scandal are arrested and charged in courts of law.
