TeamUp Canada, a humanitarian group, has partnered with Amus College School to bring hope through the power of sport to Bukedea and Mbale primary schools.

This initiative focuses on sports and community development, aiming to foster life-changing opportunities for children.

The partnership empowers and engages local leaders, especially teachers, by building their capacity in coaching.

Speaking to Wallnetnews, Amus College School Head Teacher Richard Olupot emphasized the transformative impact of their efforts:

“We help underserved communities find hope, belonging, purpose, and opportunity. Our sport programs provide children and youth from underserved communities with a place to belong, learn life skills, be mentored by role models, and engage in activities that foster their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.”

Training local leaders is a crucial aspect of this initiative. Olupot highlighted the importance of local leaders as real agents of change: “We combine insight, coaching experience, and technology to equip local leaders with knowledge and resources that are human-centered, transformative, and long-lasting.”

Key Components of the Initiative, Sports Programs: Providing children and youth with opportunities to play and develop life skills, Role models mentoring young people to inspire and guide them, Equipping local leaders and teachers with coaching skills and knowledge and Fostering a sense of hope, belonging, and purpose in underserved communities.

Meanwhile, the partnership between Amus College School and TeamUp Canada is a significant milestone.
