Rubanda Youth pressurizing Parents to sell land to buy Boda bodas

Rubanda – Authorities in Rubanda district have raised alarm on how the youth have resorted to bodaboda industry after they forcing their parents to sell their pieces of land to purchase boda bodas.

Speaking as the guest of honour, at Hope Radio Station football friendly match with its listeners in Hamuhambo Town Council Rubanda district, MP Akampurira Mbabazi Prossy, the Rubanda District Woman legislator expressed concern on how the youth have dropped from school to other businesses.

Akampurira said that she has received several complaints from parents accusing their children who have become big headed to them.

The legislator  also expressed concern on the high cases of youth killing parents over land in Kigezi sub-region.

Akampurira said that news programs on different radio stations are full of murder stories resulting from alcoholism, drug abuse and youth failing to work and have their own property.

She called for discipline among the youth for the elderly if they are to have a successful future.

At the end of the friendly match, Akampurira donated football jerseys to Hamuhambo Town Council football club as one way of supporting sports in the district.

She also highlighted on the district starting to renovate all roads within the town council as soon as they start experiencing reduction in rainfall

The Hamuhambo Town Council Mayor Aggrey Bandebaho called for the government’s intervention on youth in the town council who are pressurizing parents to sell land and buy for them motorcycle.

He also applauded the legislator for her tremendous developments in the district.

The town council football club captain Owen Byamukama with great joy applauded MP Akampurira upon her donation of the football jerseys.

Byamukama added that they have been on several occasions hiring the football jersey which was costly to them

The  football match between Hope Radio station and the town council football club ended in a draw of 1:1 with all the goals being scored in one goal post due to the geographical location of Kibuzigye playground.
