Kampala – KCCA Deputy spokesperson, Robert Kalumba has blasted the Rubaga D/RCC Anderson Burora over allegations he made on KCCA Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.
Recently, D/RCC Burora came out to accuse the Authority of including individuals who were not supposed to benefit from Parish Development Model (PDM) funds on the list of beneficiaries.
However, Kalumba reacted on the same on a city radio station on Friday, and termed Burora’s allegations as baseless and advised him to follow the right channels while investigating government programs.
Kalumba added that, the lists of the verification process even entail security agencies for one to access the PDM funds.
He advised that if he has issues, it’s okay as he added: “Why can’t he then raise those queries in the right channels than running to the media?”
According to Kalumba, Burora would have raised those queries with the head PDM Program in Uganda.
He wondered why Burora didn’t raise the issue them with the office executive director or the minister for Kampala if at all they were genuine.
He conclusively advised Burora to start with the Mayor of Rubaga division than running to the media for publicity.
In a press conference held at his office in Rubaga, Burora blamed KCCA for failure to follow up the actual beneficiaries after discovering that the people on the list are not the ones meant to receive the funds.
He later halted the process of giving out PDM funds in Rubaga division due to lack of transparency.
Burora noted that 195 people were supposed to benefit from the program in the division but surprisingly the list has 489 people, calling for further investigations on how the list was inflated.
