The Rubanda district woman MP Akampurira Mbabazi Prossy Begumisa has challenged the youth to stand against homosexuality saying that it’s anti-Christian and also full of diseases which are expensive to treat.
MP Akampurira made these remarks on Sunday while addressing the youth participating in a 3-day youth conference at Muko Archdeaconry in Muko sub-county Rubanda West, and at Kakore Parish in Hamurwa Town Council Rubanda East constituencies respectively.
The legislator warned the youth against money that the homosexuals are dishing out before sleeping with them saying that they are targeting those who are still school going children.
“Stop associating with those people who dish out money to you while in school. Homosexuality has got a lot of diseases which are expensive to treat and it’s also anti-Christian,” MP Akampurira warned
Akampurira added that the homosexuals are taking advantage of the economic crisis where poverty is high among locals but said they should stand warned.
“Easy money is dangerous, please stop. The victims of homosexuality are lamenting at Mulago Hospital,” she added.
She further said that the situation of homosexual victims at the national referral hospital is not good at all and some of them (victims) carry their intestines in the polythene bags as a result of the deadly and bad practice.
Recently the Deputy Speaker of the 11th Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa raised alarm over ‘increasing’ cases of homosexuality sodomy in schools.
While chairing the Tuesday plenary sitting, Tayebwa said he has been receiving ‘painful’ stories about students being forced into the vice of homosexuality and lesbianism.
“I am getting painful stories about homosexuality and many people are dying in silence. It seems our schools have been infiltrated and recruitment centres are open. It’s extremely sad. Our children have been grabbed and sodomized,” Tayebwa said.
He revealed that he had talked to one student from one of the prominent schools, who admitted that the students could no longer move in the compound at night in fear of being grabbed and sodomised.
Tayebwa said the matter needs to be tackled head-on without fear, to protect the children from the vice.
