Kabale – The Bishop of Fort Portal Diocese Rt. Rev. Robert Akiiki Muhiirwa has challenged the youths to respect their parents.
This was revealed at the thanksgiving of the 11 years of priesthood of Rev. Fr. Aloysius and the 63rd marriage anniversary of his parents that was held at Kahungye Primary School grounds on Sunday in Kahungye sub-county, Ndorwa West Constituency Kabale District.

Preaching during the mass, Bishop Akiiki urged the youth to have respect for the elderly.
He added that people lose energy when they grow old and it’s the responsibility of the youth to support them in accessing medical services and other necessities in life.
The Bishop also said that blessings starts from the parents which the youth must seek for.
He further challenged the youth not to be overtaken by earthly pleasures saying that life on earth is very short , and they should use it productively.
The Kabale District Woman MP Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire challenged parents to educate all their children saying that the boy child has been neglected.
She further urged the public to embrace better farming methods to control the running waters in hilly areas of Kigezi most especially in the rainy season.
She further contributed Ugx500,000 toward the construction of the Priest’s House.
The state minister for trade, industry and cooperatives David Bahati who was represented by the Kabale Woman MP Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire donated 100 iron sheets towards the construction of the house.
The Kamwenge Woman MP Sylvia Bahairera applauded Fr. Aloysius for his tremendous developments in Fort Portal Diocese.
The Kabale District LC5 chairperson Nelson Nshangabasheija called upon the minister Tumwebaze to intervene and have the roads in the district rehabilitated.
He further contributed 10 bags of cement towards the cause.
Agriculture minister Frank Tumwebaze who was the chief guest rooted for good farming methods and pledged to extend the requests made by the Kabale district Woman MP and chairman LC5 to have the roads worked on .
