35 year old Man arrested for killing biological mother in Kanungu

The Police in Kanungu district are holding a 35 year old man for allegedly murdering his 70 year old biological mother.

According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson, the arrested is Anthony Niwomurisa 35, who allegedly used an axe to kill his biological mother Pascazia Tumuhirwe 70, a resident Kashaki Village Rubimbwa Parish in Kirima sub-county of Kanungu district for denying him to sell a piece of the family land.

Maate said that the body of the deceased was retrieved from the crime scene, and taken to hospital for postmortem. A case of murder was opened against the suspect and inquiries into the incident is ongoing,
